But when his family is evicted from their home, he is forced to confront the harsh realities of racism and economic inequality. Boots, a hardened gang member, has given up on the possibility of a better life. He sees violence and crime as the only way to survive in a society that has failed him.

As their paths intersect, Xander and Boots are forced to confront their own prejudices and choices. Xander begins to question the validity of the American Dream, while Boots struggles to let go of the anger and bitterness that consume him. Through a series of events that test their limits, they learn the true meaning of resilience, redemption, and the importance of fighting for what they believe in.
